College Tutoring
On-demand tutoring for college coursework and graduate admissions tests, on a schedule that fits adult life.
College tutoring helps undergraduates and adult learners with the courses that most often trip people up - calculus, statistics, chemistry, physics, economics, accounting and programming - along with academic writing and graduate admissions tests such as the GRE, GMAT, LSAT and MCAT. Lessons are one-to-one and online, scheduled around classes, work and family.
It works the same whether you're at a US college, a Canadian or UK university, or studying online from anywhere in the world: your tutor works from your own syllabus, lecture notes and problem sets.
Why the first year is hard
University courses move faster than school, assessment is less frequent - sometimes just a midterm and a final - and nobody checks whether the reading got done. Students who sailed through high school can find themselves weeks behind before they notice. A weekly tutoring session builds in the structure lectures don't provide, and turns unasked questions into a regular habit.
Courses we support
- Math: Calculus I-III, linear algebra, differential equations and discrete math.
- Statistics: probability, distributions, hypothesis testing and regression - for statistics majors and for the stats requirement in psychology, business, nursing and the sciences.
- Sciences: general and organic chemistry, physics and biology.
- Business and economics: micro- and macroeconomics, accounting and finance.
- Computer science: Python, Java, data structures and web development.
- Writing: essays, lab reports and research papers - structure, argument and clarity.
Graduate admissions tests
- GRE: Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning are each scored 130-170, with Analytical Writing scored separately; the current test takes under two hours.
- GMAT Focus Edition: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights, with a total score from 205 to 805.
- LSAT: scored 120-180; since August 2024 the scored sections are Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.
- MCAT: four sections, with a total score from 472 to 528.
For each test we start with a diagnostic, then focus on the sections where you can gain the most, with timed practice as the test date approaches.
Help that keeps the work your own
Good college tutoring builds understanding: a tutor explains the concept, works a similar example, and then watches you solve the problem yourself, so you can do it alone on exam day. Bring your assignments and past papers, and your tutor will work within your institution's academic integrity rules.
Adult learners and returning students
Plenty of college students are working, parenting or returning to study after years away. Online lessons fit around that - evenings, weekends, or a focused session before a deadline. College and university tutoring is arranged as a custom plan, so the frequency can follow your term.

We do, one-to-one: a diagnostic first, then a plan focused on the sections where you can gain the most, with timed practice.
